Pay Band 10, $52.59 to $62.91 (9 step range) GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Under the direction of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Clinic Associate Team Lead, the Nurse Practitioner-Oncology is an advanced nursing practice role. The primary responsibility of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is to provide comprehensive direct patient care as a central member of the Medical Services team. As a direct care provider, the incumbent integrates and applies knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, disease progression, treatment modalities, treatment side effects and complications and symptom programs to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of best practice and evidence-based care and other clinical interventions. The NP-Oncology collaborates with others to support patient navigation in the access of cancer services, care of patients receiving curative therapy, as well as supporting patients requiring palliative management. The NP provides expert clinical care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary oncology team within the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The NP will use advanced knowledge, skills and decision-making skills to conduct comprehensive advance health assessments to formulate diagnoses, interpret diagnostic tests, and implement clinical care with a high level of autonomy and will provide comprehensive patient care independent of, but in conjunction with, the interdisciplinary team.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Successful completion of an approved NP program at a minimum of a Master of Nursing level or equivalent Successful completion of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act Module (CDSA) from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Athabasca University.

Where this is not complete, the successful candidate is required to complete within one year of date of hire to the position. Level C, Basic Cardiac Life Support

Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience relevant to oncology and/or palliative care and/or acute care

Membership: Registered with the SRNA and licensed as RN (NP) Canadian Oncology Nursing Certification (Preferred)
