Faculty of Nursing, University of Regina, invites applications from qualified individuals for two full-time, tenure-track instructors at the rank of Instructor II or III (depending on qualifications) within the Faculty of Nursing. Faculty are based at the Regina Campus. This is a teaching-focused position. The Faculty of Nursing seeks candidates with experience in nursing education and broad clinical experience that will be drawn upon to make their teaching relevant and engaging. The incumbents will directly support learners and work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders in the province’s Regina and rural and remote areas. Travel will be required to support student learning, community engagement, and institutional collaboration.
The start date is negotiable but normally commences on July 1.

Position Requirements

The successful candidates must have excellent communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice, and a demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for teaching, including student advising. Successful candidates will be expected to use a variety of teaching modalities, including offering courses in practice education settings, labs, and seminars. Applicants will have a minimum of two years of recent and relevant practice experience in their area of specialization.

Reading:

Hiring preference will be given to candidates who have completed a PhD. A minimum of one graduate degree in Nursing is required and the ability to practice as a nurse practitioner will be considered an asset. The ability to speak French, Cree, Dene, or Saulteaux would be considered an asset. Applicants must be registered or eligible for unencumbered registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan and have certification in CPR, TLR, and be mask fit tested.

  • Push and pull 50 pounds (position patient, move equipment, etc.)
  • Support 50 pounds of weight (ambulate patient, assist to bedside toilet, etc.)
