Quality Engineer

Our client in the automotive industry, is looking to hire a Quality Engineer. In this role, you will implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure suppliers surpass corporate launch quality, capacity, and warranty metrics while ensuring timely vehicle delivery. You will lead cross‑functional decisions with supplier leadership to resolve open issues and implement actions to prevent vehicle losses due to supplier issues. As the principal for on‑site troubleshooting, you will manage corrective actions during emergency supplier situations and ensure adherence to quality standards. Responsibilities Drive assessment and validation of manufacturing feasibility at supplier sites. Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP). Utilize data metrics and business plans to inform future sourcing decisions, enhancing quality. Lead on‑site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations. Coordinate part quality confirmation for suppliers with repetitive containment failures. Lead containment of special‑cause supplier process issues and align with Variability Reduction Team on Supplier Process issues. Provide early notification and engage Site team on potential Stop Shipments related to supplier process. Support containment of supplier Stop Ship issues and assist in tracking the vehicle On‑Hold and Release process. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes for Prevent Action Closure reporting. Monitor daily production reports and notify management of issues requiring team intervention. Act as the Plant Vehicle Team's resident supplier representative, liaising between teams and supporting quality meetings and reviews. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree 5+ years of quality engineering experience Experience with casting, machining, welding, brazing, sintering, and automated/manual assembly processes Proficiency in AIAG, APQP, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, PPAP, and root cause analysis Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations Familiarity with controls automated programming Experience with Powertrain components Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Windsor, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.30 - $46.00/hr. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Windsor,ON.
