The Senior Analyst is responsible for managing and coordinating projects arising from the First Nations University of Canada strategic plan and other initiatives related to the operations of the Institution. The Senior Analyst provides research, analysis, writing, and project management expertise in the preparation and development of plans, review and development of University processes and policies, and provides support in the area of issues management.

In carrying out these duties, the Senior Analyst reports to the President and works closely with the executive and executive officers as well as working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the University.

Duties:
  • Provide support to ensure the development and maintenance of policies, processes, and associated programs reflect priorities of the Leadership Team and align with University strategic goals as well as initiatives related to its operational and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning, policy development, and operational process by ensuring the research, data, and information resourced by the Executive Leadership is sufficiently rigorous and comprehensive to support the development of viable strategic and operational plans.
  • Participate in the preparation and development of the University’s strategic and operational plans, including stakeholder consultation and preparing and writing sections of strategic planning documents; li>
  • Review and analyze University administration policies and processes and recommend changes/revisions/additions where required.
  • Support funding requests, preparing project budgets and project reporting.
  • Act as liaison with committees and task groups collaborating with key people to ensure project success.
  • Track the progress of all new and current projects/programs and processes arising from the University’s strategic and operational planning process.
  • Identify, develop, implement, and provide ongoing project management support for innovation projects and other initiatives required by the University.
  • Manage projects and provide advice to the Leadership Team and support the President and the President’s Office where required.
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a related field and a certificate in project management is beneficial. Five (5) years related experience in research, analysis, report writing, and project management.

  • Understanding of processes required for developing and monitoring strategic plans.
  • Understanding of project planning processes and management.
  • Ability to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment, working well under time pressures with simultaneous activities, and takes initiative.
