About the role Samsara’s Revenue Accounting team is responsible for the appropriate recognition of revenue and related disclosure items. The team collaborates with Order to Cash, Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure correct application of ASC 606. The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will support the Director, Revenue Accounting by providing technical thought leadership on in-flight deals, evaluating and enforcing revenue accounting policies, influencing system enhancements to automate processes and reduce risk, and driving an efficient revenue audit cycle at a fast-growing, publicly traded, multi-product company. This is a remote position open to candidates based in Canada. Responsibilities Oversee revenue contract reviews ensuring proper accounting practices in conformity with ASC 606 and SOX requirements. Partner with Deal Desk, Sales and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with revenue policies while proposing innovative solutions that resolve customer constraints. Lead the financial close and SOX compliance processes for the Revenue accounting team, ensuring deliverables are provided accurately and on-time. Supervise the execution of special projects that improve customer experience, automate tasks and enhance systems to drive efficiency and reduce risk. Collaborate with Order to Cash, General Ledger Accounting, Finance Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and drive process improvements. Support the Director, Revenue to operationalize revenue accounting policies as the business evolves and evaluate the appropriateness of key assertions and estimates. Champion and model Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as the company scales globally. Minimum requirements 8+ years of combined experience in public accounting and revenue accounting with an emphasis on ASC 606. Strong grasp of ASC 606 with ability to research, interpret, memorialize and apply accounting standards to Samsara’s facts and circumstances. Experience managing or leading a team. Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and best practices. BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent required. An ideal candidate also has Demonstrated resilience in operating in fast-paced, high growth environments. Netsuite, Salesforce, and integrations experience. Exposure to high growth public SaaS company environments. Familiarity with combined performance obligations accounting policies in a multi-product environment. ERP implementation experience. CPA designation. Compensation and benefits Samsara’s compensation philosophy is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (base salary + bonus/variable + RSUs) that is at or above market. New hire RSU awards may be granted at hire, with possible annual RSU refresh grants. The base salary range presented is indicative and may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
