ABOUT BREAKTHROUGH ACADEMY We run a super fast-growing company that helps innovative entrepreneurs in the contracting industry grow their businesses by implementing excellent operational systems into their company. We believe in the unlimited potential of entrepreneurship and help our Members (clients) break through barriers and take their businesses to the next level. Our proprietary training program brings systemization to a company’s operations, develops an entrepreneur’s core business skills, and holds accountability to goals along with a clear business plan.

Breakthrough Academy is now just nine years old and growing rapidly, with over 1,000 business owners developing in the program and an awesome team of 45 running the show. We are leaders in the contracting industry, producing high-quality, engaging content across multiple channels for our Members and we are well on track to continue the growth of our audience. Because of this, we are looking for a Member Communications Specialist with exceptional copywriting chops to take charge of communication and marketing activities to our valued client base.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

You are an expert at creating clear, concise, and persuasive messages that always hit the mark You know how to perfectly shape the brand voice and deliver compelling content across email, SMS, social media, and video Your copy has personality and is a delight to consume. You write with finesse and a sprinkling of tasteful humour, leaving audiences craving more You have a good understanding of direct-response copywriting, and are able to use it when the time is right You possess extensive experience crafting communications for business owners who are busy, action oriented individuals, actively managing their own teams You have great instincts about audience behaviors, taking time to understand their needs and motivations so you can deliver content that provides the most value You always carve out time for analysis to improve your content and connect better with the audience You know the ABCs of split testing and how to iterate based on data You understand that every piece of content produced, whether bite-sized or long-form, is crucial to business success You have experience bringing a complex campaign to life from building an initial plan, hitting milestones along the way, and driving results to completion You are passionate about helping business owners and eager to work side-by-side with savvy entrepreneurs

IN THE ROLE, YOU WILL BE:

Drafting all Member-facing communications across various mediums Studying engagement rates of the previous year’s communications and conducting split testing to increase click-through and engagement rates Maintaining brand voice consistency to reflect Breakthrough Academy's tone in all communications Developing complex, multi-month internal marketing campaigns distributed through multiple channels - email, mail, SMS, web, training PPT decks, social media, etc Applying your understanding of human behavior to optimize message timing and content structure Working on the ongoing Customer Journey development to continually improve our Member’s experience in the program Coordinating with other BTA team members to ensure projects are completed successfully Collaborating closely with our creative team on compelling copy, graphics, and video production Conducting regular meetings with relevant team members to advance Member communication projects Utilizing visual project management frameworks using tools like Asana to track project progress and responsibilities

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

4+ years of writing experience in a marketing capacity with elements of direct response copywriting Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related fields Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, G Suite, Asana, or similar project management tools & content management systems Strong work ethic, professionalism, and good judgment Must be able to work in Canada (can be located anywhere) Must be able to travel to our awesome in person Member & Team Events - we have a ton of fun together in epic locations from the beaches of Tulum to the mountains of Colorado Experience in the trades, home services, or construction is an asset
