Electrical Designer

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the candidate will be a key member of the engineering organization responsible for the design of the electrical systems for HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance. The position of Electrical Designer offers dynamic challenges in our SolutionAir Group designing Electrical HVAC system components. p>

The candidate is expected to be a team player who will work closely with colleagues, collaborate within the different teams, and take on tasks outside their immediate comfort zone to get the job done. u>

  • Developing electrical layouts, schematics, wiring details, and controls enclosure drawings.
  • Designing custom products from 24v-600v with fans, VFDs, heaters, and controls.
  • Supporting production throughout the manufacturing process and providing guidance during the quality assurance process.
  • Submitting detailed engineering drawings for sales and customer review.
  • Building prototypes and working with certification bodies for product verification.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing teams, other senior designers, and engineers in efforts to optimize the designs for cost and manufacturability.
  • Planning and managing projects that require materials, cost, and timing estimates.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • A University degree in Engineering, a College Diploma, or Technology program.
  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, and performance and testing processes.
  • A comprehensive understanding of product design and engineering standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent CAD software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian electrical standards.
  • A strong aptitude with hand tools and the comfort working on and testing live electrical systems up to 600v AC.

This position is in-office at 404 Egesz Street.
