Description As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required. Classification and Employment Details Classification: Diagnostic Sonographer I Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound Primary Location: Grande Prairie Rgnl Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 11-NOV-2025 Employee Class: Regular Full Time Date Available: 21-NOV-2025 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 60 Shift Pattern: Days, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $40.96 Maximum Salary: $52.83 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications Highly developed communication skills. Evidence of effective decision making and collaboration working with others. Echocardiography Certification required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with contrast enhancing agents.
