This individual will oversee accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and play a key role in supporting business growth and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and timeliness. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and external regulatory requirements. Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives while monitoring variances and providing actionable insights. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors as required. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function. Skills and Experience CPA Designation: Required. Accounting Leadership: Proven experience managing accounting teams and overseeing full-cycle accounting operations. Industry Expertise: Background in real estate development, construction, or property management is an asset. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities. Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership role. Education: Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Extra Consideration Extra consideration will be given to those who have experience with: Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Forecasting, Audit Preparation, Real Estate Accounting, Process Improvement, and Team Leadership.
