Job Description

Review inventory levels of corporate purchased items and determining quantities of items to be carried:

  1. Compare inventory levels with sales needs, replenishment of items sold and maintenance and/or adjustment of vendor minimums.
  2. Advise branches of items to be purchased on their behalf.
  3. Identify inventory to be purchased or transferred within specified percentage requirements.
  4. Follow company policies and procedures to identify the need for disposal of obsolete material.

Procure material:

  1. Prepare and issue requests for quotations from suppliers.
  2. Purchase material within established guidelines.
  3. Initiate inter branch transfers.
  4. Interact and communicate with vendor representatives to maintain a positive relationship.

Other duties:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
  2. Analyze and forecast market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
  3. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  4. Assess the quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  5. Prepare detailed reports on purchases, including cost analyses and inventory status.
  6. Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
Qualifications
  1. Proven experience as a buyer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of vendor sourcing practices.
  2. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  4. Must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:45pm.
