Old Toronto, Canada T6 Talent Partners Full time

At Augmenta, we create software for the construction industry that fully automates the design of buildings - completely transforming the industry and empowering architects, engineers, contractors and developers. We’re a global team, headquartered in Toronto, Canada with a team of brilliant, kind and collaborative scientists, engineers and designers. We are spread across Canada, the US, and Italy, making our workplace a remote-first and distributed environment.

The Role

We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer to join our team at Augmenta. You will own the user experience of our first product (and subsequent products). You will work closely with product leadership and with our customers to define requirements and an ideal user experience, and will then work with our engineering team to ensure that experience is delivered as planned. This role reports to the Head of Product.

  • Develop and lead partnerships with product, data, and experience leaders to inform strategic product and design decisions.
  • Consult with multiple company partners to develop mixed methods research programs aligning with primary goals that support the design and development lifecycle from strategic inception to post-release validation.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret results.
About You
  • You have led a complex product design through an entire lifecycle, from zero to delivery to market.
  • High proficiency in Figma, with the ability to visualize and prototype complex solutions in both low and high fidelity.

  • Have a toolkit of qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools, and the experience to determine the appropriate approach for complex situations.
  • Experience applying human-centered design principles and practices.
  • Extensive experience applying a holistic and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex design concepts and product requirements to internal and external stakeholders through design briefs, user stories, or technical diagrams.
  • Strong organizational skills and documentation processes.
  • Familiarity with design systems, including the use or creation of reusable components.
  • Experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to inform design strategy, communicate business value, and measure the success of design initiatives.
