Accounts Payable Technician

We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Technician to join our Finance team in Montreal. The AP Technician will report to the Director of Finance and is responsible for the full accounts payable cycle, coordination with accounts receivable, month end closing of AP, some analysis and reporting and implementation of process improvements. The candidate will have access to confidential information, and it is expected and required that the information be held in the strictest confidence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full process of accounts payable cycle
  • Responsible for staff and partner expenses
  • Responsible for credit card reconciliations
  • Participate in month end closing
  • Responsible for sales Commission calculations
  • Identify internal control issues and establish counter measures
  • Act as a backup if needed for other team members
  • Government sales tax filings is considered an asset
  • Other Ad hoc tasks as required by manager

What you need to succeed:

  • 2-3 years experience in similar role
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable cycle
  • Good knowledge of the full accounting cycle and accounting rules for private companies
  • Knowledge of one or more ERP systems is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Detail oriented and high level of accuracy
  • Works well under pressure and respects deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Leadership and quick problem solving
