Base pay range CA$40.00/hr - CA$45.00/hr Direct message the job poster from STAFFWORXS Delivery Manager @ STAFFWORXS | US IT Recruitment Location: Remote (Canada) Duration: 6+ Months Contract Job Description We are looking for an experienced Java GCP Developer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring frameworks, microservices architecture, and modern cloud development best practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain microservices and cloud-native applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and related frameworks. Build and implement scalable RESTful APIs and integrate with external or third-party services. Work with core GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage. Implement application security using Spring Security and industry-standard practices. Develop automated unit tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related testing tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance in GCP environments. Required Skills Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and modern backend frameworks. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services. Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab. Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and ORM frameworks (JPA/Hibernate). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications GCP Certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Developer, Associate Cloud Engineer). Experience with DevOps practices and tooling. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
