Job Description:

We are seeking someone to join our team to design/detail a wide variety of projects from the initial design phase through to on-site contract administration. Candidates shall be able to prepare structural working drawings & construction details, and specifications, in a collaborative and team environment with a focus on quality control. The candidate should be self-motivated, sincere, conscientious, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills in a professional manner. Candidates, in addition to participating in design activities, should have sound organizational skills and enjoy working on technical aspects of structural projects in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Must be highly proficient and experienced with Revit and AutoCAD software (latest edition) and have working knowledge of MS Office productivity software. A junior to senior level of familiarity with the relevant standards, Ontario Building Code, and knowledge of building science and structural detailing will be an asset, along with a strong motivation for continual learning.

This position will lead to progressively increasing responsibilities with the capacity to work on multiple projects as part of the growth plans of the company.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Civil/Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technologist or equivalent
  • 5+ years civil/Structural engineering experience
  • Knowledge and experience producing 3D models and 2D drawings using Revit and AutoCAD in a BIM environment
  • Experience in civil detailing using Autodesk Civil 3D an asset
  • Require knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated excellence in design and/or technical realms
  • Knowledge of quality control methods and management
  • Knowledge and application of standards and applicable building codes
  • Experience working in teams and contributing to all phases of the project
  • General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative, critical, and pragmatic thought
  • Strong focus on quality and the ability to check your own work and work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
  • Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications and writing reports
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to function with minimum supervision
