Job TitlePalliative Care Physician – Multiple Positions Available Work SiteVancouver Community Palliative Care Program – Supplied across clinic, community health centers and hospice settings. Employment TypePermanent – 0.4 to 1.0 FTE (Clinical Service Contract) Start DateTo be mutually agreed upon. About the RoleJoin a dedicated team of palliative care specialists who work in interdisciplinary, community‑based teams. As a Palliative Care Physician, you will provide high‑quality care across the spectrum of services, from early integration of palliative care for oncologic and non‑oncologic disease patients to end‑of‑life care in home and hospice settings. Responsibilities Provide clinical services in at least two practice settings and remain flexible to work in other settings as clinical situations arise. Participate in an on‑call rotation (1 in 6 to 1 in 9) based on care setting. Engage in clinical education and mentorship of students, residents, nurses, and colleagues. Contribute to research, quality improvement, and innovation projects within the team. Advocate for and incorporate patient‑ and provider‑centered perspectives on wellness, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Education & Experience MD or equivalent, current license or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia. Must meet at least one of the following: Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Care (CCFP‑PC). Year of Added Competency training in palliative care at an accredited site. FRCPC in Palliative Medicine. Other acceptable palliative medicine credentials. Active Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) coverage or equivalent must be obtained. Will be required to apply to and join the Medical Staff of VCH if not already a member. Knowledge & Abilities Passion for patient welfare and ability to deliver high‑quality care within complex health‑care systems. Strong commitment to education and engagement with students, residents, nurses, and colleagues. Excellent communicator skilled in listening, engaging, and consulting with diverse stakeholders. Desire to take on additional clinical or non‑clinical roles such as researcher, quality‑improvement innovator, or EDI & wellness advocate.
