New Westminster Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network, is recruiting for an Environmental Service Aide.

Salary range: $20/hr - $22/hr

Position Summary:

As the Housekeeper, you are responsible for providing direct support to the surgical unit and PACU to facilitate the processing of patients. You will act in accordance with policies and procedures for the proper care and maintenance of the facility and its equipment. p>

Responsibilities include:Collect dirty laundry from patients’ rooms & recoveryDaily dust mopping of PACU floorsSpot cleaning as required in response to incidentsClean and disinfect all OR & PACU floors and surfaces using predefined cleaning methods and proceduresDust and polish hospital furniture and equipment, including cleaning mirrors and windows along with polishing fittings and fixturesDistribute clean linen and surgical scrubs to appropriate areasCreate and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen; maintain adequate stock of allResponsible for mixing appropriate quantities of cleaning liquids and chemicals in accordance with safety regulationsMaintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning equipment and suppliesEnsure proper collection of surgical waste according to hospital policiesAttend staff meetingsOther tasks as required

The Housekeeper, with the assistance of the other members of the per-operative team, will also be responsible for completing the following tasks:

Maintain constant awareness of the cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of the hospitalWeekly terminal clean of unit, including washing of windows and wallsWeekly terminal clean of all equipmentInform OR Nurse Director of any cleaning equipment that may need repair or replacement or any building hazard and assist in addressing it

Qualifications:

Understanding of safety regulations related to cleaning productsFluency in written and verbal English, with good interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and perform a wide range of duties that may require independent actionProactive, cooperative, and alert; strong>
