Description: The Care Manager performs a leadership role in Seniors Health and reports directly to the Area Manager for Seniors Health. The position provides direction, team leadership and organization over the activities in Seniors Health within a specific area in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The Care Manager is responsible and accountable for making front line unit‑level decisions and has direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of Seniors Health. Key responsibilities include: Operational Leadership People Management Resource Management Risk Management Relationship Management Change Leadership Strategic Planning Financial Management Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program. For Baccalaureate Degree holders not suitable, a diploma in nursing plus three (3) years of recent experience in Acute Care, Emergency Department or Long Term Care will be considered. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Additional Required Qualifications Effective communicator with strong organizational, influential and patient/resident‑focused orientation. Leadership skills including decision making, coaching, teaching and inspiring others. Proven ability to manage change and human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and partners. Preferred Qualifications Three to five years in a health care provider role and a minimum of one (1) year working in a leadership capacity.
