Join to apply for the Staff Accountant - Private Enterprise role at DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants About The Role We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Victoria DMCL team — a tight-knit, high-performing group that supports a unique and interesting mix of clients, including artists, creators, and private enterprise clients. In this role, you’ll work closely with an experienced Manager who specializes in private enterprise clients. You’ll have the opportunity to prepare files from beginning to end while supporting the Manager directly, giving you both hands‑on learning and the autonomy to expand your skill set. How You’ll Make a Difference Prepare year‑end compilation engagements and working paper files that meet CSRS 4200 standards, ensuring smooth and timely client reporting. Support personal and corporate tax compliance, including preparing T1s, T2s, GST/HST filings, and responding to CRA requests to keep clients on track and in good standing. Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, and payroll processes for business clients, giving them confidence in their day‑to‑day financial management. Collaborate with Managers and Partners to build strong client relationships while gaining mentorship and exposure to diverse engagements, setting a strong foundation for your career in public practice. Who You Are You have 1–3 years of experience in public practice accounting. You have a solid understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and basic tax principles. You are proficient with Caseware and TaxPrep (or similar accounting software). You are detail‑oriented, organized, and thrive in a collaborative, client‑focused environment. You are enrolled in or planning to pursue the CPA program (preferred but not required).
