Position Overview
The Communications Stakeholder Lead is responsible for the development and coordination of the stakeholder engagement and social transition plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the stakeholder engagement registry, planning and coordinating external stakeholder and rightsholder engagement, and internal stakeholder engagement related to closure, including preparation and dissemination of closure-specific communications (quarterly newsletters, website/intranet, presentations, posterboards, etc.).
- Lead the development and execution of the Social Transition Plan, supporting Kidd Operations in maintaining compliance with Industry Associations (e.g., ICMM, MAC TSM) and Glencore sustainability and corporate protocols (e.g., Social Performance and Human Rights and social aspects of Closure, Tailings Storage Facility and Dam Management Standards).
- Support the maintenance of the social performance, socio-economic, and human rights risk register, and execution of action items.
- Site and corporate reporting on engagement and social performance functions.
- Manage consultants in the development of plans or community research when required (e.g., Socio-Economic Impact Assessments, Community Perception, etc.).
- Support closure readiness function to ensure long-term engagement and transition strategies are aligned with North American Closed Sites Team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a two-year college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
- Experience in dealing with Indigenous affairs would be considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and publishing software.
- Experience in Borealis would be considered an asset.
- Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively.
- Creativity and rigor.
- Any media relations training would be considered an asset.
Schedule
This position is required to be on-site from Monday to Friday. The ability to relocate to Timmins, Ontario, is required.
