AssessMed is a true national provider with strategically located regional offices in BC, Alberta, Ontario (4), Quebec and the Maritime Provinces (2). About the Business Development Manager Role We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to manage relationships with existing clients while onboarding new clients. AssessMed is in the “people business” and the successful candidate must display superior interpersonal skills, as the job requires frequent face‑to‑face interactions with clients and the company’s roster of medical professionals. While training and mentoring will be provided as part of onboarding, the successful candidate will be well‑organized, a self‑starter, driven to succeed while competing for business in a very mature and highly competitive sales market. This is not an inside sales role and the applicant will be required at times to work outside traditional, daily work hours. Main Responsibilities Secure referrals from clients for independent medical assessment services offered by AssessMed and assist clients in the facilitation of referral bookings through the AssessMed referral intake team. Liaise regularly with evaluators, collect and communicate feedback to operations managers, and complete all customer roster requests. Maintain and grow the book of business with key customers, including arranging meetings with existing and potential new clients to sell company services. Hold meetings and discussions with clients to troubleshoot service delivery issues or fulfill roster requests. Regularly attend business‑related social events after hours and on weekends as required to establish strong customer relationships. Continuously liaise between customers and internal staff to ensure inquiries are dealt with promptly. Liaise with Operations Team to update customer specifics. When required, assist the AssessMed QA team with the review of assessor reports to help ensure only reports of the highest quality and standards are released to clients in a timely manner. Provide weekly sales activity reports to senior management that accurately reflect all business‑development activities. Administer and organize business‑development activities to support growth. Assist in the preparation and distribution of marketing materials and RFPs. Travel to meet customers and medical assessors throughout Quebec as needed. Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing or Sciences. Minimum two years’ experience managing operations and/or business development with the medical, legal or insurance industries. Experience in the medical, insurance or legal industry considered a strong asset. Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills a vital component. Professional demeanor and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of time management and the ability to prioritize. Driven and results‑oriented, self‑motivated, tenacious, resilient with a strong desire to meet and/or exceed expectations. Exceptional relationship‑building skills utilizing a collaborative approach. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve in the moment. Effective at adapting to tight deadlines and changes in priorities. Valid Quebec driver’s license and working vehicle. High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite. Ability to travel as per business needs.
