An Overview Of This Role As an Analyst focused on Customer Intelligence products, you will own the end‑to‑end development process for data products – from gathering business requirements to developing dashboards and delivering actionable insights and recommendations. You will build a deep understanding of our user base and their customer journey, collaborating closely with Go‑To‑Market and Product teams to pioneer new analyses and evolve our insights & analytics capabilities. You will be in a highly cross‑functional role with opportunities to partner with GitLab team members inside the Enterprise Data Team (Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists) and with functions such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Product. What You’ll Do Collaborate cross‑functionally to deeply understand business questions about our collective customer base and design single‑source‑of‑truth reports and dashboards. Explore data to uncover insights and opportunities, especially regarding the customer journey, product feedback, and growth potential. Craft dashboards that meet our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices in a high‑scale analytics environment. Experiment with GenAI tooling in partnership with the Data Platform team to enable conversational data exploration. Partner with Data Engineering & Analytics Engineering to define requirements for product & customer data creation and model development. Influence and contribute to the long‑range strategy and goals of the Analytics team. Advocate for improvements to data quality, security, and performance across the data lifecycle. Serve as a subject‑matter expert on data visualization and analysis, providing support to other GitLab analysts through code reviews, pairing, and training. Support business teams to maximize the value derived from customer and behavioral data. What You’ll Bring 3–5+ years of experience in an analytics role, including analyzing product usage and customer journey for a SaaS product. Experience combining data attributes from multiple systems (e.g., Marketing, Product, ERP, CRM) to create a unified view of the customer lifecycle – GitLab’s data sources include GitLab.com, Salesforce, Zuora, Zendesk, Marketo, NetSuite, Snowplow, and others. Proficiency in complex SQL with multi‑table joins, grouping, aggregation, common table expressions, and conditional filters. Clear and concise communication skills for explaining complex business logic, technical requirements, and design recommendations. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders (Customer Success, Product, Marketing, etc.). Expertise with a business intelligence tool such as Tableau. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization. Positive, solution‑oriented mindset. United States Salary Range $78,400—$168,000 USD (base salary only; does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits).
