OverviewWest Fraser's 100 Mile Lumber division in 100 Mile House, British Columbia, is recruiting for the 100 Mile Lumber – Chief 4th Class Power Engineer.You’ll DoResponsible for the safe and optimum operation of the 100 Mile Lumber thermal oil plant and dry kilns. This thermal oil plant consists of three biomass heating units. The heat generated is used to dry lumber in six lumber kilns and provides building heating for the sawmill and planer.Provide leadership, direction and supervision to the thermal oil plant operating crewSafety management including orientation, training, worker observations, identifying and correcting safety hazards, accident and near miss investigations, emergency protection systems and site auditsEnsuring optimum operation of the thermal oil plantContractor managementReliability management including monitoring oil analysis and vibration analysis reports, planning and scheduling maintenance, operator care rounds, lubrication and spare parts managementYou HaveProven Leadership skills and experienceA 4th Class Power Engineering CertificateIndustrial experience preferably including Thermal oil and/or power generationKnowledge of kiln lumber dryingStrong organizational and communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and team building skillsDemonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skillsDesire to progress, learn, grow and succeedYour Workplace Location100 Mile House is a family-friendly community of 5,000 in central British Columbia.
