Engineering Manager, Purchasing Procurify is an AI‑enhanced procurement and AP automation platform for mid‑market organizations. We help companies take control of spend and save money. We’re looking for a pragmatic and thoughtful engineering leader to help scale our platform and team. About the Role We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Purchasing team, the core group that owns the critical suite of products automating financial workflows: Order Requisition, Vendor Management, PunchOuts, and Purchase Order features. In this role, you’ll manage a team of software engineers and serve as a technical leader within the team’s business domain, working closely with the Head of Engineering to grow technical leadership and build a highly engaged, high‑performing team. What You’ll Be Working On Lead & Mentor: manage a team of 6–8 engineers, coach for technical excellence, drive career growth, and nurture a culture of trust and collaboration. Drive Velocity: deliver consistently against ambitious goals, define success metrics, track progress transparently, and communicate proactively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and celebrate wins. Own a Complex Domain: steer the technical direction and long‑term vision for Purchasing, ensuring designs are architecturally sound, scalable, secure, and aligned with our patterns. Balance & Strategize: manage technical debt while delivering new features, fostering long‑term developer and product velocity. Evolve Our Architecture: guide the team’s efforts in moving our Python/Django monolith toward a modular, testable, maintainable architecture that supports modern financial products. Forge a Leadership Triad: partner closely with Product Manager and Designer to deeply understand customer needs and drive product success. Develop Future Leaders: mentor senior engineers and team leads, supporting the growth of the next generation of engineering leaders. Collaborate Broadly: work with security, platform, and data teams to deliver robust, high‑quality, compliant software solutions. Who We’re Looking For Proven Leadership: 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 in a direct people‑management role. Modern SaaS Experience: built scalable, customer‑facing SaaS products using Python/Django, TypeScript/React, AWS, and Kubernetes. Architectural Acumen: strong design principles, patterns, and a track record of evolving large‑scale applications. Strategic Thinker: pragmatic decisions for legacy codebases, improving engineering experience and customer value. Agile & DevOps Mindset: expertise in agile practices, CI/CD, test automation, and observability. Empathetic & Accountable: self‑driven, people‑first leader thriving in an autonomous, fast‑paced environment. Exceptional Communicator: can translate complex technical ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Maintains a professional and current LinkedIn profile updated upon joining Procurify. Nice to Have Domain Expertise: strong interest or background in FinTech; direct experience with order requisition, purchase order creation, vendor management, or B2B procurement. Base Salary Range: $146,000–$198,800 (dependent on experience; excludes bonus, commission, benefits, or equity).
