We are looking for a highly motivated manager to help build this team. The manager will be instrumental in guiding the team through technical challenges, driving process improvements, and contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing customer conversion. This engineering leader position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and utilize that context to own and deliver high-availability and low-latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products.What you’ll doBuild teams: Lead a high performance identity engineering team with a focus on building a culture of innovation, accountability, empathy and executionCollaborate: Work closely with your peers across the organization on projects that turn opportunity into resultsInfluence technical strategy: Collaborate with a broad range of engineering and analytics teams, leveraging your experience to deliver a long term technical roadmap that meets stakeholder and growing business needsRaise the bar: Hold a high technical bar while driving the improvement of your team’s quality standards and development processesGrow others: Play an active role in coaching and mentoring team members, providing timely feedback and creating an environment where every engineer is empowered to grow in their careerWhat we look forExperience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering with 2+ years of engineering leadership experienceTechnical skills: Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining backend systemsTechnical leadership: Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence technical decisions across teamsTeam player: Community builder with strong network-building and collaboration skills and a strong desire to grow and mentor othersCommunication skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersEducation: This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldPay Grade - PEquity Grade - 7Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).CAN base pay range per year: $178,000 - $228,000Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company The majority of our roles are remote and you can work almost anywhere within the country of employment. Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office.
