Key Responsibilities
  1. Set the strategic direction of the department to provide high-quality care to the community.
  2. Provide progressive leadership and operational direction to a multi-disciplinary staff of over 1,000 employees.
  3. Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships and achieve results.
  4. Deliver outcomes that enhance the quality of life for residents, visitors, and communities.
  5. Foster a supportive, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  1. University degree in Health Sciences or a related health discipline.
  2. Practical experience as a paramedic and 8 years in a senior leadership role delivering paramedic services.
  3. Key role in establishing divisional strategic and business plans in alignment with departmental and corporate goals.
  4. Solid understanding of health equity and experience working with community partners to address barriers to care.
  5. Ability to make critical decisions in emergency planning, coordination and command, communications, operations, and logistics.
