Team Overview The Small Business National Accounts (SBNA) team, part of EDC’s Inbound Sales and Service group, empowers Canadian micro and small businesses nationwide. The team delivers personalized export solutions, managing relationships with small business exporters and financial institution partners. Operating virtually, the team collaborates across EDC and with Canadian financial institutions to drive client retention, satisfaction, and new business growth. Key Responsibilities Translate EDC’s strategy into clear, actionable goals for the SBNA team, prioritizing customer needs and operational excellence in a high‑volume environment. Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Senior Account Managers and Account Managers located across various EDC offices. Foster empowerment and accountability – delegate effectively and remove obstacles to enable team success. Coordinate and integrate team activities for maximum strategic impact and operational effectiveness. Champion innovation and adaptability, guiding the team through change and embracing digital solutions that enhance customer experience and efficiency. Operationalize strategic initiatives, driving process improvements and skill‑based routing to optimize capacity and deliver solutions. Represent the small business segment in leadership forums and collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for client needs, using market intelligence to influence programs and corporate initiatives. Recruit, recognize, and develop talent, fostering a supportive inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing and professional growth. Essential Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. Minimum 7 years of business development experience in international business, financial services or related area. Advanced knowledge of sales management best practices and customer experience strategies. Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
