OverviewUnderground Development Miner – Cablebolter at Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. The position reports to the Supervisor, Mine Operations and requires proficiency in the safe and efficient installation of secondary ground support such as cablebolts or superswellex bolts. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong portfolio of development projects and a commitment to safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and stakeholder value.Primary ResponsibilitiesUnderground site preparationInstalling services when required (air/water pipe, electrical cable, ventilation)Blowing/cleaning bench and holes if floor cables are to be installedMoving in tools and gear required for cablebolting using tractor, scooptram and manually (cable pallets, grout pump, grout pallets, grout tubes and breather tubes, superswellex, superswellex pump, etc.)Setting up grout pump when groutingScaling and performing pre-operation inspection of equipment and siteFilling 5-point card and maintaining accurate operating records, including daily cablebolting reports and inventory logsProvide 2-hour call-in when drilling context requires operator to work aloneInstall resin-injected cables and conduct routine inspection and maintenance on associated resin pumpsCable and/or superswellex installation with ability to read prints and follow installation and grouting directivesMix grout according to SOP and best practices, confirming grout quality before pumpingGrouting of cables, confirming grouting quality throughout the processTensioning cables and cutting tails; maintain a clean and safe work area as the job progressesPerform daily preventive maintenance and regular repairs on grout pumpsContribute to and establish effective workplace relationshipsProvide cablebolting reports to supervisor and cross-shiftProvide support to blasting crews when requiredProvide support to service crews when requiredAll other tasks as directed by supervisorKnowledge, Skills, Qualifications And ExperienceEquipment qualifications required: Scooptram, Toyota, Forklift/tractor, ScissordeckSchedule10 hour shifts, 7 days on/7 days off rotating scheduleBenefits and OpportunitiesYoung-Davidson offers competitive salaries and benefits packages with opportunities for both personal and professional advancement.Qualified candidates are invited to visit our website, www.alamosgold.com and apply online under the careers sections.
