Tomlinson is looking for a Truck Foreman to lead our fleet of Ready Mix. The role is responsible for all truck and driver daily operational activities.Job Location: 891 Jinkinson Road Stittsville ONPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures the timely delivery of concrete to customer sitesEnsures morale is maximized through daily interactions with drivers and that drivers issues are addressed or escalated to management.Tracks and verifies employee attendance and works with the customer service team to ensure customer demand is met.Responsible for managing driver vacation allowances and time-off requestsResponsible for hiring new truck drivers and ensuring our training plans are completedReviews hours worked for accuracy prior to submission to payrollDaily job site visits to ensure safety efficiencies concrete quality and customer needs are metPerform pre-delivery site visits to ensure logistical and safety requirements are metAssists garage supervisors in scheduling of maintenance and repairsLiaises between the management team Dispatch team and the driver teamMonitors and ensures compliance for drivers hours of serviceConducts and documents monthly Health & Safety meetingsRide-a-long evaluations with driversConducts performance evaluationsWriting up disciplinary actions in an unbiased consistent manner following company proceduresADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESFollows up with Health & Safety to ensure new employee orientation has been conductedComplete accident and incident reports and files with the H&S officerComplete quality reports for concrete delivery issuesPromote a customer service mentality with driversMonitors truck cleanliness and ensures non-essential items are not presentMonitors license compliance with our CVOR compliance teamActs as back-up support for dispatch / batching / quality control during vacations and may provide back-up for other roles within the divisionAssist with the implementation of new processes and proceduresWORKING CONDITIONSThe working conditions require the ability to work in all weather conditionsHeavy lifting required up to 50 lbs.On call to handle / dispatch emergencies for customers and driversEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEDZ licenseComputer / email / tablets skillsComfortable presenting to large groups of peopleDemonstrated verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsAbility to make independent decisionsWorking knowledge of MTO regulatory requirementsTOMLINSON OFFERSCompetitive wagesBonus programsEmployer paid health and dental benefitsExtensive training programs and tuition reimbursementRetirement benefits programFamily-oriented team environmentEmployee discounts and other rewards programsThe Tomlinson Group of Companies encourages applications from all qualified candidates.
