Our employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, each bringing their own unique skills and talents to the table, working together to continue our incredible momentum of growth.The OpportunityReporting to the Senior Vice President, Medical Sales, the Director, Strategic Market Access & Partnerships is responsible for building and maintaining key private payer relations, creating tailored marketing strategies, negotiating with private payers and developing preferred partnership programs. The individual will have excellent communication skills, able to communicate complex information to both internal and external stakeholders, and an understanding of pertinent regulations and guidelines relevant to market access in the Cannabis Industry.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain relationships with key private payers, including commercial health plans, and understand their specific needs and decision-making processes.Create and execute market access strategies specifically tailored to private payers, including pre-launch planning and submissions to private payers.Negotiate contracts and agreements with private payers to secure optimal reimbursement for the company's products.Build relationships with private payer organizations/groups to develop preferred partnership programs with Apollo Clinics & Spectrum Therapeutics.Track and analyze payer policies, coverage decisions, and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges, and communicate these insights to internal stakeholders.Represent the company's interests on industry association committees and advocate for policies that support patient access to the company's products.Provide training and support to internal teams on market access strategies, payer requirements, and reimbursement processes.Ensure all market access activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.Collaborate with internal resources to create a reimbursement strategy that aligns with Canopy Growth’s overall strategic objectives.Responsible for monitoring the reimbursement landscape to identify and anticipate key opportunities for medical cannabis reimbursement.Develop and maintain knowledge base of the federal and provincial regulations/policies relevant to market access for medical cannabis.Provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress-to-plan.Build contingencies to anticipate and proactively address any threats within the policy and reimbursement environment.Liaise with internal stakeholders to address payer need for pharmacoeconomic and outcome data necessary for effective decision-making.Other duties as assigned.ExperienceStrong understanding of the private payer landscape: knowledge of payer policies, reimbursement processes, and market access strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships with payers, negotiate contracts, and effectively communicate complex information to both internal and external stakeholders.Strategic thinking and problem-solving: ability to analyze market data, identify challenges, and develop effective solutions to secure access for products.Cross-functional collaboration: ability to work effectively with various teams to achieve common goals.Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field: a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.Other DetailsThis is a full-time role based remotely out of the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.
