Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Municipal / Land Development Project Engineer with a keen interest in leading projects and interfacing with clients. In this role, you will work on project management, planning, and engineering design for commercial and residential subdivision development infrastructure (parking lots, roads, sewers, watermains, storm water management (SWM) studies and calculations, etc.). The role can be based in our Ottawa, Gatineau, Montreal, or Toronto locations. We have a hybrid model, with the expectation to be in the office 1-2 times per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Perform and lead the design of infrastructure projects for various clients throughout Ontario and Quebec (including road and parking infrastructures, potable water distribution and fire protection systems, storm and sanitary sewer plans and profiles, site drainage and storm water management design, calculations, studies, and planning, etc.).
  2. Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval processes.
  3. With assistance from the Project Director, participate in the management of project resources, schedule, budget, quality management, and project risk assessment on behalf of CIMA+ to meet client expectations.
  4. Mentor 1-2 staff members on fundamentals of detail design of Civil/Siteworks infrastructure work and general project management skills.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of municipal infrastructure.
  2. Previous experience managing projects would be an asset; however, mentorship is available for the right individual.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  4. Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.) and/or Québec (ing.) licence or eligible to obtain it.
  5. Communication skills in both English and French.
  6. Valid driver's licence.
