We’re always looking for curious, talented, and passionate people to join our team.Who You’ll Be JoiningJoin a diverse, multi-talented team combining mechanical engineering, electronics manufacturing, and supply chain expertise. As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead hands‑on integration of design and production, working alongside Product, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, and external suppliers to shepherd prototypes into high-volume manufacturing.This role requires hands‑on presence in our Toronto office 3–5 days per week.How You’ll Make an ImpactLead mechanical design from overall architecture through detailed drawings and documentationOptimize existing products for improved quality, capacity, and cost efficiencyDrive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) throughout development: identify issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure new products meet design, quality, and cost targetsManage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on‑time, on‑plan product launchesResearch and evaluate materials, components, and emerging technologies for innovative solutionsOversee prototype builds with suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring specifications, budget, and schedule are metAdminister PLM processes: release prototypes, author assembly/test procedures, and hand off to mass productionSource and qualify vendors, suppliers, and contractors; build strategic relationships for global component sourcingDefine, procure, and qualify test equipment for product validation and complianceWhat You’ll Bring to the TableBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience7+ years in manufacturing electromechanical productsAdvanced CAD skills (SolidWorks and PDM preferred)Strong leadership, mentorship, and project‑management abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers worldwideExpertise in electromechanical assemblies (LCDs, batteries, sensors, flex circuits, PCBs, antennas, buttons)Proficiency in DFM/DFA, statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, and GD&TSkilled in statistical analysis and data‑driven decision makingExperience with manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, stamping, MIM, CNC machining, soft goods) and process validationFamiliarity with reliability testing, cosmetic QA, and standard mechanical test methodsTrack record in product validation (shock/drop, cycle, environmental testing)Experience collaborating with Asian high‑volume manufacturing facilitiesSelf‑motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projectsWillingness to travel internationally ~4–5 weeks per yearPreferred QualificationsExperience in high‑volume manufacturingHVAC system knowledgeWireless antenna integration in enclosures (Bluetooth, GPS, Wi‑Fi); MID/LDS experience a plusOptical or camera system designThermal modeling and analysisJust so you know - the hired candidate will be required to complete a background checkWhat happens after you apply:Application review.
