Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) works closely with adults who have various levels of speech, language, and communication challenges, assessing client needs and developing individual treatment programs to enable each client to improve as much as possible. Service delivery is available virtually and face‑to‑face. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of adults with speech, language and communication challenges. Assess, diagnose, and treat swallowing and communication difficulties arising from congenital problems, stroke, injury or other causes. Develop, implement and revise treatment programs supporting positive health outcomes. Advise caregivers on implementation of treatment programs and train other professionals in therapy delivery. Assess clients' communication environments. Monitor and evaluate clients' progress against planned outcomes. Deliver therapy in one‑to‑one or group settings. Write and maintain confidential client case notes and reports for clients, caregivers and other professionals. Manage caseload taking account of priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referrals and discharge of service users. Collaborate with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery. External and Internal Relationships Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Liaise with professionals in education and social services. Education, Designations and Experience Master’s Degree (or grandfathered prior to 1994 equivalent in Speech–Language Pathology). Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech‑Language Pathologists of Ontario. Certification with the Canadian Association of Speech‑Language Pathologists and Audiologists is preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an equivalent role. Skill Requirements Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and speech‑language related software. Proficiency in using technology for documentation of patient outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Adaptability to different social and economic environments. Ability to respond to changes in patient caseloads and care needs. Other Requirements Must have a personal vehicle, current driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance. Current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment. Working Conditions and Physical Demands This role requires a detail‑oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements. #J-18808-Ljbffr
