The Director, Ocean Freight - Americas leads a team responsible for strategic sourcing, rate setting, allocation management, and commercial alignment to maximize profitability and service performance.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSTRATEGIC PROCUREMENT LEADERSHIPDefine the procurement strategy for the entire TPEB trade lane.Own high-level relationships with global and regional ocean carriers.Negotiate large-scale volume contracts and secure space guarantees aligned with growth forecasts.PRICING AND YIELD OPTIMIZATIONOversee all pricing strategies including spot, index-linked, and fixed long-term pricing models.Guide the pricing team to ensure market competitiveness while preserving margin.Supervise GRI, PSS, and amendment management across contractsORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENTLead and mentor a team of procurement and pricing professionals across North America and APAC.Develop training, SOPs, and performance management systemsEXECUTIVE REPORTING AND BUDGETINGReport to senior leadership on spend, rate competitiveness, procurement savings, and allocation utilization.Lead budget planning for the TPEB product and cost forecast modelingINNOVATION AND SYSTEMSDrive process improvements through Freightify, allocation dashboards, and procurement intelligence tools.Champion digital procurement and rate forecasting initiativesKPIsTotal TEU contracted vs shippedNet procurement savingsRevenue yield vs budgetCarrier partnership scorecardQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSMinimum 15 Years of Freight experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in Procurement for the Transpacific TradeProven experience in leadership and organizational managementStrong market and competition knowledge to strategically plan the Ocean Product’s growthEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret complex data reportsAbility to build / foster relationships with Ocean carriersDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate people to achieve improvementsEffective engagement and relationship skills to influence and execute activities that drive Ocean performanceOutstanding organizational abilitiesAptitude in decision-making and problem-solvingStrong coaching skillsTarget and deadline drivenAbility to hire and retain quality talentGood Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word,You are ready to travel between 30 - 50% of the time across the globe to our operations to perform audits, on-siteYou speak and write fluent English – additional languages are a bonus, in particular Arabic, Spanish, French, Mandarin, HindiPlease note : This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas.
