About the Opportunity Our client, a mid‑sized public accounting firm located on the west side of downtown Calgary, is growing and seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. Salary: $70,000 to $95,000 per year The Role As a Senior Accountant, you’ll manage a range of client files and tax engagements, working closely with both partners and junior staff. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of independent work, team collaboration, and direct client interaction. Key Responsibilities Independently prepare working paper files for compilation engagements in CaseWare. Prepare T2 corporate tax returns, T1 personal returns, T3 trust returns, T5013s, T5s, and T4s. Identify and correct tax and accounting errors for corporate and personal clients. Perform bookkeeping tasks including bank reconciliations, GST/HST reports, and general ledger entries. Support junior staff by answering technical questions and providing training and mentorship. Assist partners in reviewing staff files, offering feedback and coaching where needed. Ensure client budgets, file turnaround times, and internal expectations are met. About You Minimum 4 years of public accounting experience. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Proficient in CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxCycle (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word. Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks (desktop and online), and Xero (asset). Professional, respectful, and client‑focused, with a strong understanding of small business needs.
