As a result, we are seeking a like-minded individual with at least 7 years relevant experience to join our growing team in British Columbia.Our work includes delivering keystone projects throughout their lifecycle: from early assessment of constraints to strategic development of regulatory approvals processes, to compliance management through construction and operations. As part of the wider Environment division, you’ll be at the heart of the business with the opportunity to work alongside a variety of environmental and engineering professionals across BC, wider Canada, and our global regions.This is an intermediate level role and can be based out of our Vancouver or Burnaby offices within the Lower Mainland, or our Victoria and Nanaimo offices on Vancouver Island. Other office locations across BC will be considered.Your role within the team :Your day-to-day work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes of work, including identifying environmental and heritage risks, coordinating subject matter expert inputs to risk, preparation of monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards, and provision of time‑sensitive construction phase tasks where quick response times are critical.ResponsibilitiesAct as the project-level environmental representative for clients.Ensure that environmental and social risks are fully incorporated into projects.Prepare scope, budgets, schedules, change management and deliverables according to contract terms.Subconsultant and subcontractor management and coordination.Coordinate or prepare environmental permit applications.Prepare or coordinate technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements (e.g., Environmental Screening Reports, Environmental Overview Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Habitat Assessments, Construction Monitoring Reports, Post-Construction Reports, Permit applications).Support environmental compliance and management system auditing programs.Ensure quality of work including work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring.Provide guidance to less experienced staff to complete quality and timely deliverables or tasks.Relationship management on behalf of, and as directed by clients with Project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.Periodic field work.Why AtkinsRéalisThe opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients.An exciting environment where work-life balance is important.A wide array of learning and development opportunities.Competitive pay, flexible benefits, an employee share plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.A work environment focused on health and safety.The ideal candidateA university degree or college diploma in environmental science or related studies. Graduate level training is an asset.Experience completing projects on time and within budget with a high degree of client satisfaction.At least 7 years of experience with a focus in environmental management preferably within an environmental consultancy.Thorough knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, regulatory permits and approvals, bylaws, environmental best management practices.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) as well as an aptitude for client liaison.Ability to work independently and succeed in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team setting.Professional accreditation or eligibility is considered an asset (e.g., R.P. Bio., EP, PMP, P.Ag., P.Eng., RPP).Demonstrated experience conducting field work.ISO14001 Environmental Management auditing accreditation would be an asset.CompensationCompensation Range : Expected compensation for this role is between $79,000 - $109,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
