Manufacturing Engineer (Electronics Assembly)Syntronic Production Services Canada is an Electronic Manufacturing Services provider located in Ottawa’s west end. Committed to our customers’ success, we understand that our people are our greatest asset, and we are always on the lookout for great talent.What you will doOversee the processes of assembling product ensuring workflows are smooth and efficient. Design and document new manufacturing processes as required. Train and support production operators and technicians on day-to-day manufacturing activities.Participate in Design for Manufacturing/Testability/Reliability reviews and collaborate with design engineers to implement “design for manufacturing” initiatives.Recommend/evaluate/implement opportunities for continuous process improvement. Adopt “Lean Manufacturing” initiatives to improve production rates, reduce costing, and improve quality of output;Design/fabricate and select tooling, automation, and test equipment for the manufacturing processes;Establish control and calibration procedures for tooling, automation, and test equipment to ensure that procedures and protocols are followed to deliver a quality product;Establish process control/inspection points in the manufacturing process and establish validation requirements and procedures. Ensure maintenance and collection of yield data and controls.As applicable collaborate with suppliers of outsourced parts, assemblies, and products to support the resolution of pertinent quality issues;Participate in Corrective Action and Preventative Action Teams, lead product failure investigations both internally and externally. Design and perform “design of experiments” techniques to establish root cause failure modes.Adhere to and support all AS9100 guidelines, support audits, and ensure complianceSupport any other initiatives or projects as requestedWhat you will needExposure to ISO 9001 quality system minimum. Preferred, exposure to AS9100 standardsExperience with electronics assembly is a must haveEmploys a results-oriented teamwork approach to meeting objectives. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize duties, multi-task, and quickly assume new tasks to function productively in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to establish working relationships with customers, design engineers, operators, and QA personnel, with strong communication skills, written and oral.Possess excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy with the ability to interpret technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, etc. Ability to interpret circuit schematics is an advantage.Knowledge of associated industry standard such as IPC-610Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent and minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment.We offer competitive salaries, a dynamic working environment, the potential for professional growth and career development, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.We are a global team of engineers present in eight countries and three continents.
