Current active registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)One year of technical experience is preferred. New graduates encouraged to applyRequired Skills:Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, on call, and statutory holidaysAbility to handle stressful situations and changing prioritiesAbility to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.Able to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff and the public.Able to perform phlebotomy and capillary collections on both adults and children.Computer literate and with demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office applications and Hospital/Laboratory Information Systems.Customer focused and track record of positive patient relationsDemonstrate knowledge and sound judgement as it pertains to patient and staff safety.Demonstrated interest in lifelong learning.Keyboarding and data entry skillsPerform duties in blood bank, chemistry, haematology, coagulation, urinalysis and other duties as assigned.Perform quality control preventative maintenance procedures.Professional demeanour and excellent attendance are requiredRequired to troubleshoot equipment when necessarySome lifting required, less than 20 kgWell organizedThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
