Field Service Operations Manager Location: Canada, Val-d’Or or Lively At Sand we offer you a world of opportunities. We are currently looking a Field Service Operations Manager. This manager will plan, resource, and manage service activities across a designated area, ensuring work meets business requirements while complying with our quality and safety standards. You will lead a dedicated team of Field Services Technicians, maintain our reputation as a trusted mining equipment provider, and report to the National Field Services Manager, collaborating closely with multi‑divisional teams. Environmental Health & Safety We are ethical and compliant, dedicated to health, safety, and sustainability. We put health and safety first. Comply with safety policies and relevant regulations or requirements from the government, clients, or industry. Ensure that technicians report any dangerous work habits, workplace incidents, and/or near‑misses, and perform a "Take 5" risk assessment before each task. Conduct audits, ensure compliance and quality of field evaluations, and follow up with corrective actions when hazards, incidents, or near‑misses occur. Ensure adequate supervision at sites where technicians are deployed and intervene with management if necessary. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operation. Participate in environmental, health, and safety training. Business Growth & Development Manage and develop people, service offerings, and capabilities in line with customer needs and product technologies. Manage resources to meet utilization targets and capacity requirements. Participate as an active member in specific ad‑hoc account teams. Develop and enhance relationships with customers that lead to constructive and profitable partnerships. Collaborate with the contracts team to satisfy resourcing requirements. Provide input into strategic plans for the continued expansion of services and capabilities within the area of responsibility. Investigate competitor activities and conduct relevant market research to enable market competitiveness. Work closely with Product Line Managers to plan and provide training for new products. Financial Manage cost base in accordance with budget. Ensure implementation of appropriate financial controls. Manage resource utilization within agreed targets. Customer Service Ensure adequate customer response times and resource availability. Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility. People Management & Development Hire, coach, motivate, train, evaluate and direct team members to accomplish defined goals and objectives. Ensure participation in the technical training program and development of required skills. Ensure proper onboarding of new personnel in accordance with company procedures. Manage, motivate and influence ad‑hoc teams as driven by business needs. Manage resources to deliver internal projects and customer projects on time and within budget. Personal Leadership Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with company values and current policies and procedures. Stay current on industry developments, competitive offerings, and issues affecting sales and customers. Actively support community initiatives. Undertake self‑training and development as required. What You Will Bring Along Proven experience in Maintenance Management or Services Management, preferably in mining or heavy equipment. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices with heavy equipment and in a mining environment. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingualism. Ability to travel as needed to oversee customer operations. Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft 365.
