We’re on the hunt for a Senior Program Manager on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role:

The Senior Program Manager manages a program, or an element of a program, to meet customer and Company expectations. A broader objective of this position is to support the Company's growth by undertaking tasks that may not have a direct bearing on the management of the program (e.g. interaction with senior management and line management on operational issues identified on the program).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct staffing levels on programs and competency matching the project’s needs.
  • Review requests from line management, apply and organize the required resources to manage the program in its entirety. In many cases these will be in conflict, and the Program Manager must maintain a diplomatic and persuasive approach to maintain a balance between what can be achieved for the budget and schedule provided, while maintaining the interests of the Company. Identify and manage program risks and opportunities. Maintain hands-on control of the program through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, workarounds plan meeting, staff meetings, program meetings and the like.
  • Provide technical and administrative guidance, direction and decision-making to the program team. Maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
  • Maintain visibility of the program to senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings as needed on subjects of importance to the Company. Develop a cadre of capable subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with the supply chain that will ensure meeting supply requirements throughout the life of the program.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar degree, Bachelors or higher engineering or a related field.
  • 15 years’ experience of program / project management or project engineering in related technical field.
  • Experience with negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials, US ITAR regulations.
  • Communication skills in both French and English required.

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
