Advanced Microsystems Technologies, AMT, is a technology division of Sanmina Corporation (Nasdaq: SANM), responsible for RF, Microelectronic, Optical components and Integrated Subsystems, providing services from design concept, through prototype design and testing, process development, assembly and test innovation, to volume manufacturing. p>
At AMT, you will work on some of the most innovative programs and products that address emerging markets, including optical and RF communication, datacenter connectivity, quantum computing, automotive sensing systems, medical devices and diagnostics and test & measurement systems, to name a few.
Job Purpose
The design engineering group provides complete end-to-end product development solutions to a variety of customers. These product solutions include development of test and measurement modules, 4&5G macro frequency variants, optical transceivers and optical sub assemblies. The team delivers project solutions from concept definition through to volume manufacturing.
The design team is seeking a Principal Hardware Designer for the development of optical transceivers. b>
- Lead hardware design of an optical transceiver, meeting customer specifications from concept to pre-production, including schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB design guidance, and design verification testing.
- Key contributor to Specification Alignment, Concept Design, Detailed Design and Designer Verification phases of the product development cycle.
- Understand electrical and optical requirements and specifications of optical transceiver MSA.
- Maintain documentation of a hardware design specification.
- Assure design for performance, manufacturability and cost.
- Interface with mechanical engineers, optical engineers, microelectronics engineers, firmware engineers, process engineers and test engineers.
- Lead design reviews as required.
- Create BOMS and ECO to document design.
- Interact with program manager, buyer/planner and suppliers to ensure designed parts are available in a timely manner for build.
- Work with rel-qual compliance group to design fully compliant optical transceiver.
- Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers.
