Equity Associate Portfolio Manager

Description : We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The Equity Associate Portfolio Manager role will be part of Mercer’s Portfolio Management team, a key component of Mercer’s Investment Solutions business. The broadening of our client base to include more diversity in client segments, sophistication, and sustainability orientation has placed greater importance on innovation and thought leadership. This position will have a key role in supporting these efforts within the equity business. The successful candidate will take an active role in assisting the portfolio management team in relation to the range of Mercer’s investment solutions. Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and initiative are required for this role to be successful. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively, liaising locally and globally, with a range of our partner teams including clients servicing, business development and portfolio management. We will count on you to : Participate as part of the Canadian portfolio management team to manage equity funds and achieve client outcomes. Contribute to all global equity committees to represent Canada. Be a self-starter, question, challenge, enhance and improve existing processes. Work collaboratively with our sustainability team to promote ESG thought leadership. What you need to have : Minimum 5 years’ experience in investments, with preference given to equity experience. CFA Charterholder (or study of CFA charter under way). Strong technology skillset & ability to learn new systems. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Factset, CRIMS an asset. Ability to work with excel is required. Proficient written and verbal skill set. Relevant work experience in investment management / consulting and related fields. What makes you stand out? Interest in fund-of-fund approach and the ability to understand various investment managers and styles available to achieve investment results. Portfolio construction experience. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.The applicable base salary range for this role is $91,200 to $151,200.The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
