As a Senior Associate in Risk Analytics, you will report to the Senior Manager and support the team in independently monitor and accurately report OTPP's market and credit risk with a focus on reporting and projects. The candidate will use strong financial product knowledge and risk analysis skills to perform risk attribution analysis and provide insights into risk movements across various dimensions. The Senior Associate, Risk Analytics will actively participate in various initiatives aim to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the fund's integrated risk system and support monthly risk system upgrade initiatives related to the design, testing and delivery of technology solutions for investment risk.

Who will you work with?

You will collaborate, develop, and maintain relationships with Investment, Risk, Finance, Enterprise Operation, and external vendors. You will work along a team of passionate and efficient risk managers and analysts to constantly challenge status quo and improve the risk reporting practice at OTPP.

What will you do?

  1. Perform daily analysis, reporting and monitoring of the fund's VaR / ETL, Greeks, Backtesting for Active and Asset risk at the total fund level and communicate effectively and timely on all limit breaches and material risk movements to management.
  2. Maintain and enhance BI reporting suite and various risk analysis tools developed in-house to facilitate deeper understanding of risk drivers and changes.
  3. Identify, analyze, and resolve issues around risk reporting and perform market data quality checks on various data sources and programs.
  4. Collaborate with Risk and Enterprise Operation to define and review business requirements around market data, model implementation, workflow design and reporting. Ensure potential implications of each change are understood and issues are triaged appropriately and addressed.
  5. Review and conduct UAT testing of changes introduced to the enterprise risk system to ensure business requirements are met and risk movements are explained, documented and communicated.
  6. Ensure internal control processes are documented, continuously updated and train other members of the Risk Analytics team.
  7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on new products and reporting requests utilizing your knowledge of risk measurement to provide valuable insights and guidance.

What will you need?

  1. 3+ years' experience in risk management function at a major financial institution.
  2. Solid knowledge of risk measurement and derivatives pricing.
  3. Solid working knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL and Python.
  4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think through problems, assess a variety of factors and recommend a solution.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Experience with change management lifecycle is an asset.
  7. Experience with FIS Adaptiv is an asset.
  8. Relevant Master's degree (such as Financial Mathematics, Business / Finance, Economics, Computer Science) is an asset.
  9. CFA or FRM designation is an asset.
