Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Provincial Clinical Policy, Planning, & Partnerships (EVP), the Chief Administrative Officer – Research (CAO – Research) role is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of Canada’s largest academic health sciences organizations. p>

  1. Defining and monitoring research and student education performance indicators.
  2. Working in collaboration with academic health science parties.
  3. Providing strategic leadership for PHSA’s mandate as an academic health science organization.
  4. Leading activities to strengthen, standardize, and align research and student education platforms, processes, and policies.
  5. Building formal, productive relationships with researchers, health authorities, universities, other post-secondary institutions, government, and philanthropic partners.

The ideal candidate is a future-thinking change agent with a demonstrated track record of understanding strategic connections to leverage research opportunities at a system-level that can then be translated into better patient and client care outcomes. A big picture thinker, they can communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap and distill that strategic vision into practical applications while supporting a team to fulfill that vision.

The CAO – Research will partner with others in the organization to ensure Indigenous-specific anti-racism, Indigenous Cultural Safety, and DEI strategic priorities are being actioned, and holds a steadfast commitment to diversity and creating a just system where Indigenous and other voices that have been systemically excluded are platformed and supported to lead change. p>
