Sr. Production Planner

OpportunityAs a member of the London Planning team, the Sr. Production Planner will be responsible primarily for balancing raw materials demand with supply at the London facility, as well as across the MLF poultry network. Working cross‑functionally with the entire Poultry supply chain, from manufacturing through to sales, the Sr. Production Planner will own real‑time visibility to the surplus/deficit raw material position and will be responsible for prioritizing the allocation of available raw materials to open demand while also ensuring any excess is diverted to the most value‑added destination.Snapshot of a Day‑in‑the‑LifeManage the allocation of London raw materials and capacity in the 7‑day horizon using a combination of SAP and Excel based tools.Engage with Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Sales teams as the facility point of contact for fulfilment execution issues.Accountable for optimizing raw material utilization throughout the ML Poultry network, including coordination of transfers between London and other facilities.Support the production planners in building and communicating the daily London slaughter, cut‑up, deboning, packaging and offline production plans.Own the maintenance and improvement of production planning tools and processes, including SAP integration and Excel tool maintenance.Ensure the accuracy of master data relevant to planning and raw material yield.Oversee the accurate implementation of weekly price changes and sales directives.Leverage production planning metrics (utilization, quality) to drive process improvements.Assess and communicate any daily special shipping requirements (timing, rotation) to the warehouse to meet customer deadlines.Support the warehouse with inventory management particularly as it pertains to customer date matrices.Provide backup coverage for the production planning team and planning manager.What You’ll BringA raw material and capacity‑constrained daily production schedule, optimized within the context of weekly supply/demand trends.In‑depth understanding of the integrated Maple Leaf poultry supply chain.Volume/profit optimization of fresh chicken supply.Continuous improvement of business processes.Insight on key capability and demand signals/trends.Achievement of annual financial and business targets (Raw Material Utilization, Customer Service Level, etc.).Adherence to timelines on all project work.Clear coordination of raw materials supply, forecasting, supply planning, and the execution of a production plan.Comprehensive understanding of the Fresh Chicken Supply Chain from live procurement through to the end consumer.Proficiency in MS Office Software (particularly Excel).Experience using SAP (or similar ERP system) an asset.3 to 5 years of experience in a related role.Strong oral and written communication skills.Outstanding change management and conflict resolution skills.Ability to build a strong working relationship with other functional teams including production and sales stakeholders.Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to learn, adapt and solve problems in a fast‑paced environment.Capacity to make difficult prioritization decisions based on evolving manufacturing and customer service needs.What We Offer at Maple Leaf FoodsBeing part of a high‑performance, people‑focused company with a vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth.An inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.Competitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing, effective from day one.Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company matching from day one.Learning and development opportunities, including workshops, speaker series, and resources for career growth.Comprehensive tuition reimbursement program supporting continuous learning.Up to two paid days annually to volunteer at a cause of your choice.About Maple Leaf FoodsWe’re a carbon neutral food company on a purposeful journey to Raise the Good in Food through better nutrition, safer food and workplaces, more humane animal care, and environmental sustainability efforts that protect our planet.
