Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations for Canadian companies. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with Canadian employment laws, and providing exceptional support to employees. As a key part of our remote team, you will work collaboratively to ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive data.Key Responsibilities:Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly, monthly, or weekly payrolls for employees across different provinces in Canada.Tax Calculations & Deductions: Ensure correct deductions such as taxes, benefits, and retirement contributions are calculated and applied in accordance with Canadian laws.Compliance: Stay up to date with federal and provincial payroll regulations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, taxation rules, and labor standards.Employee Support: Address payroll-related queries from employees, providing clear, professional, and timely responses.Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal teams and government agencies as required.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, employee deductions, benefits, and payroll changes.System Management: Use payroll software and HRIS tools to manage payroll data efficiently.Collaboration: Work with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and address any discrepancies.Required Skills and Qualifications:Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll laws and tax regulations.Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, QuickBooks, etc.) and MS Excel.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage time effectively.Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Experience:Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a Canadian context.Experience in multi-provincial payroll management is an advantage.Familiarity with benefits administration and employee compensation plans.Working Hours:Full-time position, typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST), Monday to Friday.Flexible working hours available to accommodate different time zones across Canada.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of Canadian Payroll Regulations: In-depth understanding of the Canadian Income Tax Act, CPP (Canada Pension Plan), EI (Employment Insurance), and other statutory deductions.Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate payroll calculations and reports.Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, work under deadlines, and handle multiple payroll cycles simultaneously.Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear explanations to employees and collaborate effectively with internal teams.Technical Skills: Expertise in payroll software and spreadsheets, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and systems.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health and dental benefits.Retirement savings plan with employer matching.Paid time off, including vacation days and sick leave.Remote work flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in Canada.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.Why Join Us:Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to balance your career with your personal life.Growth Opportunities: The Elite Job is committed to fostering the development of our employees.
