Assistant Project Manager (Development Engineering)

Vaughan, ON

Are you a Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist with a thorough knowledge and understanding of standards, regulations, and by-laws required for engineering approvals on development projects? Our client, a leading land development consultancy firm in Vaughan, is seeking a Project Manager to join their engineering development team working with multiple municipalities in the GTA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review and approval of all aspects of municipal infrastructure engineering design, including stormwater management facilities related to development projects.
  2. Facilitate the approvals of development engineering review activities in accordance with clients and provincial guidelines.
  3. Prepare Conditions of Approval related to municipal servicing for new development.
  4. Coordinate the clearance of Conditions of Approval for servicing and registration of development lands.
  5. Assist in developing and implementing various development programs.
  6. Develop a multi-year capital budget incorporating infrastructure extension projects to meet development industry clients and city needs.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Development Engineering practices and theories.
  • 2 years of related experience in land use planning, development control, grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
  • Thorough understanding of statutes, regulations, and by-laws affecting the department/section.
  • Working knowledge of the Planning Act and Section 221 of the Municipal Act.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and duties for supervisors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications such as Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Valid Class 'G' Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle.
