We serve both our Seniors and their loved ones.If you love working with seniors and you find the challenge of connecting and serving seniors with physical and memory care needs rewarding this could be the position for you We require someone who is compassionate and driven to provide a high quality, interactive, residential environment to residents, their families, and the team.Job Requirements:Reporting to the CEO; The Resident Program Director manages the overall operations of all resident ADLs and social programs and has primary responsibility for meeting the direct care and life enrichment needs of the residents and families. The RPD has direct supervisory responsibility for the Resident Specialists, Resident Specialist with Meds (UCP) and Housekeeping staff and is a champion and resource in the Community for all elements and components of the Moments and Oasis Programs. The RPD works closely with the WC in delivering quality care and CRC in marketing the property and ensuring smooth move-ins and customer satisfaction.Resident Care ProgramsActively participates in the resident assessment and care planning process, working closely with the Wellness Coordinator and Executive Director, based on the family interviews and ongoing evaluation of resident needsParticipates with the Wellness Coordinator in the development of Oasis and Moments Program Resident Individualized Service Plans (ISP).Implements, monitors and updates the ISPs ensuring resident care and lifestyle needs are successfully being metWorks in coordination with members of the Leadership Team to effectively communicate with family members regarding residents’ changing needs and additional services recommended.Plans family style dining and hydration requirements with the Dining Services CoordinatorEnsures that the Oasis and Moments Program Neighbourhood maintains the appropriate Life Skill Stations, Oasis and Moments Program Kits and Oasis and Moments Program Memory boxes and that Team Members are trained in their proper usage with residentsMaintains safety and environmental standards for the Oasis and Moments Program NeighbourhoodAssists residents with direct care activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed and covers in shortages or emergencies.Establishes and maintains regular communication with resident family members and/or contactsDepartment Team ManagementDirect reports are the Resident Specialists, RS with Meds, RPNs and Team leads.Works in coordination with members of the Leadership Team to effectively communicate the Resident’s needsCreating department schedules for all nursing staff and overseeing the payroll entriesEnsures the Wellness department staffing levels are in accordance with the variable staffing guide and appropriate from a competency and skill basis given the needRecruits Team Members creates work routines and assigns duties and monitors performance.Oversees and ensures that all aspects of the performance management and discipline processes are in keeping with SSL policies and legal requirementsEnsures that all new Wellness Team Members receive an orientation in keeping with SSL expectations and policiesRequirements:3 - 5 years Management Experience in a residential care settingComputer skills – advanced working knowledge with Word, Outlook.Up to date Standard First Aid and CPRVulnerable sector clearance and clean police record.Ability to read, write and speak English.Covid Vaccination (min 2 doses) and ability to work through a pandemic or outbreak – cannot be immune compromised.Ability to work with animals dog, cats etc. We cannot accommodate allergies.Valid Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle.Sustained walking, sitting, standing, squattingCarrying (3.0 – 15 kgs)Varying lumbar and cervical rotation, as well as shoulder reachingWrist must be capable of moving in all planesVarious forms of grip, pinching and finger dexterity requiredAbility to respond effectively to inquiries, issues and concernsShort and long term memory capabilityAlertness, concentration, judgement and decision makingJob Qualifications:Compassion, Common Sense and Empathy requiredStrong team orientationDemonstrates a positive, flexible work style and approach to the implementation of changeMust have a valid Ontario driver's licenseMust be licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of NursesMust be available to work every second weekend.
