Arrow focuses on providing innovative design, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service.Position SummaryThe People & Culture Manager role is a facility specific role and is the lead for the department to successfully meet the facility goals and objectives and manages all People & Culture functions within the plant. Ensures compliance to all regulations. Provides information to other leaders as necessary. The People & Culture Manager reports directly to the Vice President People & Culture with a dotted line to the site General Manager.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide direction and guidance to the General Manager, Site team managers and all other team members on HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistencyActively participate as a functional resource on business team ensuring human resources is an integral part of the business strategyKeep team members, managers, general manager and leadership members advised on changesPlay an integral part in the facility engagement survey results through integrating cultural values in the day-to-day business activitiesProvide direction to Site Management in interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws if applicable, governmental regulations, and internal investigations to enhance consistency and maintain and improve the work environment of the facilityProvide employment and personnel services including hiring new employees, administering benefits, providing appropriate training, and ensuring a safe work environment. Coordinate programs for management recruiting and selection. Ensure the effective delivery of support services for the internal posting programProvide directives considering impact upon the company (financial), employee engagement, and consideration for the future (new practices, policies, and procedures)Support and maintain regional point of contacts for competitive businesses for local wage and benefit surveys to be conductedFormulate and/or implement policies, practices and procedures related to employment practices, appropriate training, benefits, and safetyDevelop and coordinate, training, development, and promotion to ensure proper and effective staffing, personnel selection and practices, manpower planning and succession planning, skills development, training, policy & practice interpretation and applicationAssist managers in addressing individual and organizational effectiveness issues and compensation administrationPreparation of presentations for Department and Leadership Meetings Ensure the timely updating of Action Plans, Departmental Goals, Key Performance Indicators and provide reports as required or requestedAccountable for the fair administration of the discipline processMonitor departmental spending, provide input into business planning and annual budgetEnsure the positive induction of new employees by providing New Hire Orientations when requiredAssist in development of Continuous Improvement initiatives and manage resulting projects to completion and implementation as assigned, including action plansPerforms other duties as necessary in support of departmental goalsComply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook and OHSAFollows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)Educational RequirementsBachelor’s degree in human resources or Business-related degreeMinimum of 5 years of experience in challenging senior HR positions with deep knowledge of manufacturing operationsMinimum of 3 years’ experience developing & implementing best in class health and safety programsStrong knowledge of employment lawExperience with Lean Manufacturing philosophy is a definite assetHigh energy and self-motivated; confident leading changeExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong project management and presentation skillsRequires some experience in employee relations, benefits, compensation, personnel and training with a working knowledge of operationsRequired Skills & ExpertiseHands-On, Roll-Up-Your-Sleeves personalityBias for action - reacts promptly to issues with appropriate actions/responsesAbility to thrive in a “Lean and Mean” resource conscious organizationCapable of managing multiple challenging assignments concurrently; moving swiftly and decisively, but collaboratively and effectively with othersEffective problem solverPerceptive, responsible and accountableTeam playerEquipment/ Tools/ Technology UsedMust possess strong human relations and communications skills, along with organization planning and personal computer proficiency;UKG HRISThe above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified, and shall not be considered, as a detailed description of all the work required inherent in the job.BenefitsMedical and Dental Benefits start your first dayApprenticeship OpportunitiesTuition Reimbursement ProgramsAttendance and Performance Bonus ProgramsRRSP Company match programWork boot program and Prescription Safety Glasses ProgramCompetitive Wages and vacation allotmentsWe are committed to diversity and inclusion and than all applicants in advance.
