Senior Manager, Production Finance Systems & WorkflowsBase pay range: CA$160,000.00/yr - CA$200,000.00/yrThis Senior Manager, Production Finance Systems & Workflows is a critical leadership role focused on supporting the company’s production finance operations and production accounting activities. This role reports to the Director, Production Finance, has multiple direct reports, and will provide comprehensive production finance support for specialized internal and select VFX projects, including complex engagements with partner studios. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of production finance, strong technical acumen, excellent accounting knowledge, and a passion for streamlining processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.ResponsibilitiesVFX Supervisor Loanout Engagements: Provide full-cycle production finance support for VFX supervisor loanout arrangements, including contract review, payment processing, compliance, and financial reportingHub and Spoke Engagements: Manage production finance for "Hub and Spoke" models where Eyeline supervises VFX work for the project that is distributed across multiple VFX vendors. Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, vendor payments, and reconciliationsOutsourcing Support: Oversee production finance for outsourced roto-paint, matchmove, etc., ensuring accurate cost allocation, vendor management, and timely payments across all projectsTax Incentive Audits: Oversee the calculation of tax incentive calculations, review required documentation, prepare vendor declaration letters, respond to audit requests, maintain audit-ready records and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as neededRevenue Recognition: Partner with accounting to ensure accurate and timely monthly revenue recognition for all VFX projects, including preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliationsVFX Project Prep & Wrap: Coordinate project setups and wrap procedures, including handoff to/from production finance leads across VFX & Studio projects, including system setup, budget input, initial and final cost reportingInvoicing & Collections: Oversee invoicing and collections processes for all projects, ensuring timely billing, cash flow management, and resolution of client queriesPurchasing & Accounting Support: Provide financial support for purchasing and accounting activities related to VFX and stage productions, including purchase order management, production payroll, purchasing card management and expense trackingData Workflows & Reporting: Oversee, architect and maintain data workflows for payroll labor books, cost reports, and productivity reports, ensuring data integrity across all financial systemsStudio Cost Reports Oversight: Oversee the preparation, review, and maintenance of cost reports for internal studio projects and special projects, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with overall financial objectivesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA or MBA preferredMinimum 7 years’ experience in production finance, FP&A, or accounting, preferably within the VFX, animation, or entertainment industryProven experience managing complex, multi-vendor projects and outsourced workflowsStrong knowledge of tax incentive programs and audit processesAdvanced proficiency with finance systems (e.g., Workday), Excel, and Google Sheets; experience with data analytics tools such as DataRails and Tableau is a plusExceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyFamiliarity with Google Gemini or similar is a plusAbout UsScanline VFX is an award-winning leader in the visual effects industry with 7 studios worldwide, including London, Los Angeles, Montreal, Seoul, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Vancouver.
