Structural Engineer

Job Description We are looking for a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our innovative team, focusing on the development of state‑of‑the‑art robotics for both space and terrestrial applications. You will work alongside a multi‑disciplinary engineering team to evaluate and enhance the structural integrity of our robotic, nuclear, and medical products. Responsibilities Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary engineering team to develop state‑of‑the‑art robotics. Participate in a design team to evaluate, numerically, analytically, and experimentally, the stiffness, strength, and durability of product structures. Analyze components, identify problem areas, propose design modifications or improvements, and approve mechanical designs. Support manufacturing processes, validate, and verify mechanical designs by conducting mechanical tests on product hardware according to the mechanical loading environment. Generate analysis reports and create mechanical test plans and reports. Investigate problems and failures during development and testing. Essential Skills Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural dynamics. Experience with NASTRAN, Simcenter, and HyperMesh. Knowledge of modal analysis, SINE, random vibration, quasi‑static, and dynamic analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. 4+ years of direct experience in structural dynamics, preferably in the aerospace industry. Experience in the impact of different mechanical loading conditions (quasi‑static, dynamic, and thermal stress) on mechanical design. Familiarity with NASTRAN / NX CAD & CAE tools. Work Environment You will work regular hours of 40 hours per week, with core hours from 9am to 3pm. You will be expected to work in the office a minimum of three days a week, specifically on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The dress code is business casual, with a goal of dressing at least as well as our customers when meeting with them. You will be part of a collaborative and collegial team where people are eager to review and share knowledge. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, ON. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00 / hr. Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Brampton, ON.
